artist statement

One of the first films that really lit my imagination on fire when I was young was The Hunt for Red October. It wasn’t enough to draw Typhoon-class Soviet submarines—I had to build my own out of cardboard and paper, complete with a working caterpillar drive and propeller. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved not only admiring the ideas and stories that move me, but inhabiting them—making them real through the act of creation. I’m as much a tinkerer as I am an artist, and when something captures my imagination, I dive in completely, learning whatever tools or disciplines are needed to do it justice.

That mindset carried me into a career in visual effects—one of the great junctions between art, technology, and storytelling—where curiosity, collaboration, and technical rigor must coexist. Over nearly two decades, I've contributed to major brands and films including Avengers: Age of Ultron, and more recently Marty Supreme, Weapons, and Smile—as well as projects honored at Cannes and the MTV Video Music Awards. I've been recognized by the Telly Awards, and my personal digital sculpting has been featured on ZBrush Central and in CG trade publications.

More precious than any accolade, though, has been the lesson that being teachable matters as much as talent. Staying open—to people, processes, and new disciplines—continues to shape both my work and how I navigate life.

At the core is a recognition that, in an increasingly complex world, the ability to explore, learn, and solve creative problems for a living is a rare privilege. With respect for craft and a genuine interest in people and systems, my aim is to make work that is thoughtful, resilient, and alive.
